Weightlifting New Zealand is excited to have our young athletes come together from across Aotearoa for the 2024 National Secondary Schools Championships. The event will be held at Kolmar, Papatoetoe in the heart of South Auckland on the 7th and 8th September.
Weightlifting NZ believes in putting people at the core of our sport by providing a safe, inclusive environment, enabling them to be their best. We believe in the power of sport to develop young men and women who will have the skillset to succeed in whatever endeavour they choose.
In the ever changing sporting landscape, Weightlifting is an offering which allows those involved to express themselves in an appropriate way and leaves them with skills, focus and a sense of esteem at whatever level they achieve.
For the first time in its 10-year history, Croquet NZ is excited to have Aotearoa’s young competitors come together in Tāmaki Makaurau for the 2024 National Golf Croquet competition.
This pairs event will take place at the Epsom-Remuera Croquet Club, 259 Gillies Ave on the 2 & 3 September where we’ll be looking forward to some close and exciting competition amongst a generation of new croquet players following a pandemic hiatus. Come and celebrate the fun of youth Golf Croquet in this idyllic setting or watch the event unfold live on the Whakaata Māori YouTube channel.
The New Zealand Secondary School Singles and Pairs were first introduced in 2008, creating a great opportunity for college students to compete among their peers, and equally, an opportunity for indoor bowls to be promoted within the school system.
It coincides nicely with the New Zealand Junior Singles, which is held the day prior, and receives a good level of support from around the country. These age group events provide a platform for young people to succeed and make connections within the sport. We have seen this time and time again throughout the Secondary School’s tenure, and we look forward to seeing it again with each new group that comes through.
Auckland will be hosting the Championships for the second time following a 15 year stint in Wellington, and we encourage all bowlers and non-bowlers to take an interest and spread the word.
Auckland Hockey are thrilled to be hosting 23 teams and their supporters from across the North Island as part of Secondary School Sport Auckland Tournament Week.
We look forward to welcoming you to Auckland Hockey stadium, a two-turf facility at Lloyd Elsmore Park, Pakuranga.
2024 Mayhill Cup participants will be excited to be playing tournament games on our Paris 2024 Olympic Hockey Turf from Polytan which was installed in 2023 on Turf 1!
The Mayhil Cup is named after Ron Mayhill to mark his significant contribution to Secondary School hockey.
SBNZ are proud, for the second year running, to announce our Secondary Schools Street Skateboarding Championship in Tāmaki Makaurau. Over two days we will see Aotearoa’s top secondary school skateboarders battle it out at Birkenhead Skatepark (with Sonsk8 as the wet weather venue).
